LISTEN TO YOUR COACHES.

“The best thing I did after my Intermediate Seminar was listen to Lisa and the coaches who suggested I jump right into the Advanced Seminar which was just 3 months away. Their belief in me reshaped the dialogue in my own head. They saw a potential that I had not yet seen in myself.”

HAVE A PLAN AND TRUST YOUR TRAINING.

“My preparation focused on Strength and Power Endurance training. My program consisted of circuits with KB, lifting, AirDyne, box jumps, running, hiking and lots of rowing. Having a high level of cardio was beneficial to meet a week of the Advanced seminar with confidence. I knew It would be strenuous, but that I was ready.”

BE PREPARED TO SURPRISE YOURSELF.

“The most unexpected part of my Advanced Seminar was the Strongman lifting. I was unsure I would jump in and try the log bar, but I’m glad I did. Gym Jones has pushed me out of my comfort zone more times than I can count and I always came out better for it.”

BE READY.

“My advice to someone considering a Gym Jones Seminar is to accept the fact you will be pushed to your physical and mental limits. I plan on attending the intermediate seminar and I will prepare myself physically with sufficient sleep, good diet, and proper water intake. Mentally, I will prepare myself with a learning attitude, understanding every hard workout makes me a better person, and having fun.”

HAVE BACKUP.

“It helped me personally to get through every workout knowing I had other guys with me pushing just as hard.”

FOLLOW A PROGRAM.

“I have never done anything like this before so preparing for something like the level 1 seminar was very new to me. I’m grateful that my boss, Kurtis Frasier, had a program available to get me ready for the weekend.”

BEWARE TAILPIPE.

As with most things, I definitely could have prepared more but I felt confident in my abilities showing up for day 1; however, that quickly changed after finishing tail pipe. That workout challenged me on so many levels. It had me question my whole training leading up to the seminar.”

GET YOUR MIND RIGHT.

“I think if there was anything I would change, it would be taking my mental strength a lot more seriously. You can be in the best shape, but if you’re not focusing your energy on growing your strengths while increasing your 2k pace, then you will be very disappointed in yourself. Don’t get so focused on numbers that you miss the bigger picture. Finally, if I could I share one piece of advice it would be to check your ego at the door. You won’t need that.”

OVERPREPARE.

I generally have a decent baseline fitness year-round, however, I should have done some additional preparation to sustain the multiple efforts that are conducted during the seminar. This would have allowed me to have a better recovery, in turn, would have made it easier to stay focused on the vast amount of information that was taught.”

BE A GOOD STUDENT.

“I was surprised at the the depth of knowledge the instructors had regarding all aspects of fitness, training, recovery, and mental capacities. Reading through Gym Jones content and approach to fitness gave me a strong insight into the information that I would be exposed to. If a future seminar attendee asked me for advice, I would tell them to pay attention, take diligent notes, and be open to the Gym Jones methodology.”

BE READY FOR YOUR LIFE TO CHANGE.

“I loved my entire Gym Jones experience, and came back resolved to make many changes in my life. I follow the coaches I met on Instagram and look forward to their posts. I learned a lot about programming  have built my own home gym, and I host driveway workouts for my friends. I learned a lot about sleep the importance of recovery. I came back resolved to use my anxiety medication only when necessary and create healthy habits that don’t rely on it. I surrounded myself with people who make me a better version of myself. If I could take this class every year I would- because it had such an impact on my life. Even knowing the information, the actual experience in the gym with others is what absolutely set this apart from any other seminar or online education.”

JUST DO IT.

Do it. I had been waiting a while to [go to a seminar]. Always an excuse, work, family, covid, finances. The first step in mental toughness is setting a goal and going after it.”

“It’s a terrible thing in life to wait until you’re ready. There is almost no such thing as ready… generally speaking now is as good as a time as any” – HL

TRUST YOURSELF.

“This was a solo trip for me- the first really of such an experience. As a woman, it was a little daunting signing up for a fitness seminar at Gym Jones not knowing anyone or being familiar with the area. It was my first step in mental toughness. I was eager to learn and the entire experience. As I traveled in late October 2020, my fitness had suffered a bit during the pandemic. I didn’t allow this to hold me back and wait until I was at peak performance. The funny thing – I PR’d on all my lifts. I had the ability to rise above my excuses because of the phenomenal coaching and enthusiasm in the class.”

BE READY TO GET UNCOMFORTABLE

The big difference with Gym Jones is the focus on the Mind is Primary. Many seminars teach physical technique and skill but not about the how resilient the mind can be in adverse situations. There is a “space” that each of us creates, it is that zone outside of where we are comfortable… the Gym Jones seminar will get you being comfortable with being uncomfortable.”

BE WILLING TO IDENTIFY YOUR WEAKNESSES.

“My physical preparedness is better than average but leading up to the Gym Jones Seminar I knew there were some imbalances that needed improvement. The Seminar outlined how to identify and improve weaknesses either in your personal training or for a client. Coach Kurt and Matt explained the course content in an easy and concise delivery without getting into complex and complicated terminology.”
