Anthony was a professional rugby player for over 17 years. During his rugby league career he represented both GB and Wales.  Born in Hull, he spent 5 years playing for Hull KR. He then moved to St Helens RLFC, where he played for 10 years. He starred for St Helens RLFC through one of the club’s most successful periods in their history, achieving victories in 3 Challenge Cup finals, 2 Grand Finals and other major tournaments. He was recently inducted into their hall of fame. After leaving St Helens, Anthony went on to play rugby union for Cardiff Blues. Performances for Cardiff led to further international recognition with Wales RU, becoming one of a small number of dual code internationals. He retired in 2003 after playing over 400 career games. He worked for the RFL, rugby league’s governing body as a coach, a coach educator and the head coach of the England Women’s team. After retirement from professional sport Anthony tried a number of different occupations but could never really find the right path. Throughout this time, the one thing that remained constant was training. One of his training partners introduced Anthony to some Gym Jones workouts. The challenges of these workouts intrigued Anthony and he wanted to learn more. On discovering the website, he was hooked. The philosophy of Gym Jones convinced him that he had found the place he had been searching for. He found a reflection of the values and philosophies that he highly regarded. After attending the fundamentals and intermediate seminars in London in 2014, he was able to visit Salt Lake for the final seminar in 2015. Bobby Maximus has continued to be an inspirational and motivating figure throughout Anthony’s involvement with Gym Jones. With what he has learned through Gym Jones he has now been able to align his passion for coaching and training into a career path where he finds his rewards in the success of others. Here, he is able to use his experience in performance in elite sport to create a challenging and stimulating environment for his members. He is based in Stockholm where he runs the Evolve Fitness gym.
