Adrian played golf for the University of Texas at El Paso on a full athletic scholarship where he led the team as captain during his senior year. Days after graduating, with the full support of his sponsors, he began his career as a professional. After three years of mini tour events, Monday qualifiers, one trip to the European PGA Q-School and two tries at PGA Q-School here in the United States, he discovered how narrow the professional golf pyramid can be at the top. Adrian’s passion for fitness began as a sophomore in college when, in a departure from traditional theory, the UTEP golf team was required to attend regular strength and conditioning. He excelled in the weight room and even after turning professional, found that he could still do quite a bit of work in the hotel rooms he called “home” for the next three years. When his golf career ended, he found himself back in the gym and for conditioning, on the bike. In 2010, after much internet surfing, he discovered Gym Jones; in 2012 he joined the website as a full member and followed it religiously. In the summer of 2013, he attended the Fundamentals seminar with his brother, Nick. Later that year, he attended the Intermediate seminar and in August of 2014, followed it up by attending the Advanced seminar. In November of 2014, he completed his Gym Jones internship in Salt Lake City under the guidance of Bobby Maximus. Adrian is one of the co-owners of Black Flag Strength and Conditioning, located in El Paso, TX. The 5600 square foot facility is situated in the middle of the city and is home to a diverse membership of men and women from all walks of life. Firefighters, law enforcement, military, homemakers, students, cheerleaders, beauty queens and anyone else willing to check their ego at the door and push themselves to the absolute limit every day. He remains a scratch golfer.
